Do you have more questions about the body SPFs? Well, don’t worry, we’ve got the answers to your most burning question below...
Is SPF 30 or 50 better for your body?
This totally depends on the level of protection you want from the sun. SPF30 has been shown to block 97% of harmful UV rays and once applied takes 30x longer for the skin to burn than without it. However, SPF 50 should be considered a more appropriate level of protection, if you have sensitive skin as it blocks 98% of UV rays and takes 50x longer for the skin to burn if you don’t apply it.
Can you still tan with SPF 50?
Yes, although you won’t get much of a tan. Research has shown that only 2% of harmful UVA/UVB can enter your skin while wearing SPF50, but this still allows your skin to tan. If you did want to tan, then we would recommend using SPF30. But if you’re prone to burning and have sensitive skin we recommend sticking with SPF50.
What SPF do most dermatologists recommend?
Any sunscreen that has a minimum SPF rating of 30+. Dermatologist recommend reapplying every two hours and that a full shot glass of sunscreen should be used from head to toe. To be more specific you should use — half a teaspoon for your face and neck, one teaspoon per arm, two teaspoons per leg and two teaspoons for the front and back of your torso.
And there you have it, a full run down of the best body SPF at Cult Beauty. Now, have you decided which famed formula you’ll be applying. Are you more partial to mineral SPF or a on-the-go spray?
