I'm light-skinned and I bought the shade fair, I bought this for my mum as well, she's fair-skinned and this works great on her too. The cream blends seamlessly into the skin and the shade is perfectly neutral. On my combo skin it behaves well, only in the summer, when it is very hot and humid, after a whole day, I find that the bronzer has disappeared in certain areas. (This does not happen with the Rare Beauty bronzer stick).
