Its okay
I used this product with the conditioner and used them both until they were empty. Where i live there is a lot of hard water but i did not see any difference in my hair when i used these products. So i will not repurchase or recommend these

I like it, just not sure about the hard water part
The shampoo is good. The "rich lather" promised is not quite there, but I'm ok with that, I've been anyway staying away since forever from shampoos like the ones from my childhood that foamed like crazy. The scent is citrusy and not overwhelming and the experience of washing with this is really nice, it also leaves the scalp feeling fresh. So you can tell, as a shampoo I like it very much. What I am still not sure is whether it makes a difference compared to others when it comes to dealing with hard water. My hair feels better but that could be because I've been using a hair mask regularly as well (I bought this shampoo because I my hair felt coarse and dry and I decided to do something about it. So of course, I have also been using my hair mask for longer sessions, applying UV protector... The works :) So it is true the only new product I'm using is this shampoo. But I cannot say this is what made the difference because it could also be the hair mask I'm now leaving on for 20-30 minutes. I can tell you that when I rinse my hair after using this shampoo, it doesn't feel different, as in "wow, you can tell all the minerals and metals are going down the drain instead of staying on my hair" or anything. I don't feel any difference in brassiness either. But maybe it's more of a gradual effect? The fact is the shampoo is really nice, so I will continue using it. And I will probably repurchase it. Maybe it's not a wow thing like how soft your hair feels when you rinse the conditioner or something, maybe it's a long term thing. And I'm going to give it a go to see if this is a gradual long term thing because I like it. Just one thing: Black bottle? Really? I love it, don't misunderstand me, it's stylish and the pump works really well, but when you're dealing with hard water, a black bottle starts looking ugly really soon!! The conditioner is white but has a black pump too! I clean all my bottles often but black always looks worse :)

A bit drying for my scalp
I really wanted to love this product (and I have to say, I do really love the conditioner). I have very hard water (even with a water filter) and this does have a nice clarifying effect on the strands of my hair. Sadly it just wasn't the one for my scalp, as it made it very dry. (although cavet: I do tend to have dry skin, so maybe if you lean more oily this wouldn't be an issue). I do still use it sparingly and keep it my rotation to remove build up in my hair, I just make sure to use a scalp oil before hand.

Nice smell and gentle shampoo
So far I enjoy the black texture and fresh scent (ideal for summer). It's not stripping my 3C curls and I believe it does a good job at lightly exfoliating the scalp thanks to the charcoal and lactic acid.
