Diffusing the rich, woody scent of sandalwood, Tadine is part of Cire Trudon’s ‘Les Belles Matières’ candle collection, a trio that traces the origins of rare, precious perfumes on a geographic odyssey of botanical discoveries and grand olfactory adventures. Though sandalwood has perfumed the centuries throughout the world, this sacred spiced wood was not known in Europe until it was discovered by Englishman Edward Foxhall on the Isle of Pines, New-Caledonia, in 1840. Named ‘candana’ in Sanskrit, or ‘sandal’ in Arabic, it has been used as a precious ointment for the hair and body and as a remedy for anxiety, still billowing today in the smoke of Asian incense. With delicately spiced head notes of freshly crushed cardamom and base notes of creamy, subtly floral guaiac wood, ignite this candle to bask in its calm, relaxing glow.

It is important to trim wick before each use. When using the candle for the first time, keep the candle alight until the entire surface is covered in liquid wax. This should take approximately 1 hour and will ensure a more effective, even burn for all future uses. Depending on where the candle is placed it has a burn time of 55-60 hours.
