Starting at the base of the lashes, pull mascara brush straight through from root to tip. One application provides an instant effect, but additional coats add intense definition, length and lift. To remove, splash warm water onto eyes. Gently use fingers to lift mascara from the lashes.

Great at first, then it dries out
I was curious to try this mascara by Hourglass. I like the tubing formulas, as they do not smudge or flake during the day. The wand is made of silicone, and it is OK when applying the mascara—nothing major. The formula is very good. It is possible to layer a couple of coats without the lashes looking glued together. It also provides a definition and a little bit of volume (something that other tubing mascara cannot do). I was caught in the rain a couple of times, and it did not budge. Also, in hot weather, I have not experienced any problems with panda eyes. It is easy to remove with warm water. However, after a few weeks, the formula started to become dry, and the product tended to flake a little bit mid-afternoon. This is very disappointing for such an expensive product. A solution is to buy the mini version and change it every six weeks.

Average mascara
I like tubing mascaras because they do not smudge. Waterproof mascaras are too drying, and normal mascaras tend to smudge and flake. This mascara by Hourglass is super hyped, and I was expecting much more. I did not get the fake lash effect as promised, and the quality is just average. I need to apply several layers before I get a decent effect that goes beyond natural and barely there. It does not flake or smudge, and I do not get the panda eyes. But the effect is the same as that of much cheaper tubing mascaras. It is easy to take off with warm water. I bought the mini version, but I will not purchase the full size as the price is not justified. I prefer Zoeva tubing mascara.

Lengthening and easy to remove
It lengthens the lashes but doesn't give volume. I wear it on my lower lashes as well as it dries easily and doesn't smudge. It's very easy to remove with micellar water or a basic oil cleanser.

New holy grail mascara
I love tubing mascara and find Nyx On The Rise to be a bang for my buck but I just found a mascara worth splurging on. I wore the Hourglass Unlocked to a funeral and ugly cried and the mascara did not budge. I kid you not. Bummed it is so pricy but well worth it. Only been using it for a week but so far no clumps and no flakes. Love it!

Best mascara
For me it’s the best mascara so far, separates lashes nicely without clumping. The nice surprise that it’s tubing mascara so you need only warm water for removal, so no more panda eyes or rubbing gentle area of your eyes.
