Launched in 1994 by French make up artist and photographer François Nars, NARS has remained at the forefront of the beauty space with its collection of trend-led, high-performance covetable cosmetics (not to mention cheeky shade names too). Initially starting with 12 lipsticks, the brand has gone on to develop the Climax Mascara (6g), a midnight black formula that takes lashes to new heights.

The brush is big, bold and crafted from ribbed bristles to ensure that every lash is coated for maximum impact. Plus, the formula is enriched with the brand's beloved Lash Moisture Complex, which hydrates each hair and creates buildable intensity without any clumps or smudges, while its midnight black pigment provides a universally flattering frame for eyes of every colour. For dramatic volume, start by coating the top and bottom of the upper lashes, using brush to wiggle through. Next, concentrate application on the root and the outer lashes. For extra lift, use the wand to hold and lift lashes for 5 seconds. For further impact, use the tapered edge of wand to coat bottom lashes.

The Best
This mascara feels overwhelming when you are using it for a while, you start to think "this is it?", but boy oh boy how I run back to it every time. I have bought the last 3 years very expensive mascaras and I always come back to this one, the reasons: The formula is lightweight, it does not clump up, it does not smudges, it does not transfer, it is long lasting (approximately 8 hours) and it can be removed so easily with a cleansing Balm. The only downside that my friends and family have found (because I get a lot of compliments and I recommend this a lot), is that this mascara is exceptional if you have eyelashes to work with, if you do not, it does nothing. I have mediocre eyelashes and still it works wonders.

Almost the perfect mascara
I have tried thousands of mascaras, from very cheap drugstore brands to the ones you have to sell an organ to pay for ;-). This is by far the best match for my eyelashes. I'm lucky to be blessed with beautiful natural lashes, so I don't need any "extra" work from a mascara, but still I was very surprised to see they look like extensions after applying this product. If you want long, defined, full eyelashes, this should be your go-to. I don't understand the negative reviews. It does have a thick consistency so it's better to apply thin layers 2 o 3 times for the best effect. If they would make it waterproof, it would be an absolute winner for me.

one of my favourites! gives great volume! definitely not for everyone, the wand if quite big but if you're not afraid of it and know how to use it, it'll give you the most amazing lashes!
