Decongest your complexion with this innovative mask, which works in three phases – purifying, protective and responsive – to deliver deep cleansing and reveal a long-lasting, luminous glow. Ultra-sophisticated, leading-edge ingredients are a hallmark of NIOD (which stands for Non Invasive Options in Dermal Science) and this treatment utilises advanced dispersion technology, allowing it to apply in a very thin layer and dry evenly.
NIOD’s Flavanone Mud is an innovative mask designed to decongest and revitalise your complexion, without drying it or disturbing the equilibrium of the skin’s surface. Effectively removing surface impurities, this clever system delivers decongestion in three phases: the first is purifying, in which surface impurities — including pollution, product build-up and excess sebum — are physically solubilised and removed by black Amazonian, sedimentary white and copper-rich clays. Next, the protective phase establishes a barrier against build-up, utilising pollutant-deflecting ingredients such as bitter orange peel derivatives, sea polysaccharides and ultra-pure bisabolo. Finally, the responsive phase introduces mechanisms that actively fight environmental congestion, including the product’s namesake — highly-purified flavanone, derived from the inner white parts of citrus peel, which triggers topical detoxification. Used once a week, this miraculous mask will leave skin clear, clarified and left with a long-lasting, luminous glow.

My favourite mud mask EVER
A rinse off decongestion system - NIOD's words, which I love. This is clever stuff which I won't attempt to un pack but my skin post is pretty remarkable. A mask that not only helps with impurities and sebum build up but also looks to protects against environmental aggressors. My skin feels instantly smoother, clearer and plumper. This stuff is punchy so use sparingly and follow the how to use.

BUY IT! The best mask for breakouts!
I have struggled with acne and scaring since I was a teenager (now 28). Every time I get a breakout it leaves my skin scarred for a good few months after the spot has healed. This is one of my top three masks. The post sting is real but I built up a tolerance to it after the third use. I used to get the worst breakout and have tried everything...and I mean everything! This has helped to keep my skin clear. The results are slow but worth it! I have been using it once a week for the last 4 months and have not had any bad breakouts, my scars are considerably lighter and a little goes a long way. I use this in the night and then 20 mins later, follow with The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid Serum 5% in Squalane (I have been using it for years, it's far better than Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil).

Great mud mask
I loved this mask from the very beginning - lovely consistency, nothing too cakey. Does the job well with no fuss. The smell is somewhat unique, but doesn't bother me at all. I do have an issue with the bottle though - very difficult to get everything out. Definite re-buy. Have ditched all my other mud masks.

Wow
This is THE holy grail mud mask. It is truly a miracle. I have probably the oiliest skin in the world with ice pick scars and enlarged pores. But this mask after 5 days accelerated method made my skin smooth as a baby's bottom! My pores and scars are much smaller and less noticeable now. It didn't sting very much for me.

I cry every time I use this but it's the only thing that works
I have sensitive skin but am cursed with the most painful cystic acne when aunt flow arrives. This is the only mask I've used that has drawn some oil out of those cysts, and gets it to come to a head within a few days. I use it as a spot treatment a few times a day when the cyst is unbearable, and has worked for other spots of acne as well. I also use it once a week to detox and I recommend using a brush for application. The container is a little finicky and you'll only need a thin layer of this. I'll admit it doesn't work all the time, that's why I'm giving it 4 stars. It also hurts every single time I use it all over my face, especially around my cheeks where my skin is drier. It burns for a good 20 minutes after removing the mask, so I advise that you wait before moving on with your next skincare steps (also helps to drink ice water as your skin calms down). The pain is a necessary evil though.

Not effective and stings
This made my skin very sore and I didn't notice any positive results after it. I usually love Deciem products, but this one was not for me.

One of the best discoveries I've made thanks to Cult Beauty
The flavanone mask is one of the best detoxifying masks I've tried for my sensitive combination dehydrated acne-prone skin. It really delivers despite its relatively modest price tag; it works better than the Wei purifying mask, Tata Harper clarifying mask, Glamglow super mud mask, Pixi glow mud mask, Aesop anti-blemish mask and more. Oh yes, a little goes a long way and it smells funky. Will never be without this though the packaging is such a pain. For those who have similar skin type/conditions as me, perhaps you could give this Niod mask a shot. My other favourite masks include: Origin's retexturizing mask (the one in pink tube), Lush's magnanimity and May Lindstrom's problem solver mixed with honey mud. My skin can't tolerate problem solver neat.

Professional Face Treatment
An At Home Facial Exactly Like The One Your Esthetician Would Give! I love the consistency and the 'burning' sensation (absolutely bearable ) leaves the skin smooth and clean. Once per week must in my face routine and for sure will repurchase.

Nothing short of an elixir
Wow. Just wow. No other words necessary. Okay, I'll try again: Started with the 5-day accelerated method and on the 2nd day, the texture of my skin was just WOW. People say they leave it on for hours and I just don't know HOW they do this. Any more than ten minutes and my face REALLY starts getting hot. I tried leaving it on for about half hour and came out of it with red patches all over my face; they went down after a little icing. However, other than that, there have been no issues with the product. I want to put this on every night (I won't but I reaaaally want to)! I don't know how sensitive skins would handle this though. The burn/sting is quite real. Having said that, while I have normal skin it does have a tendency to break out now and again and had a really really bad reaction after using Liquid Gold Rose for the first time, I didn't react to this mud at all (except as previously stated, when I left it on for too long). Patch test and give this a go. This is just beautiful stuff.

Not for me
I'm all for trying new stuff, a negative review doesn't really mean that the product is bad because each skin type is different. This didn't really suit my skin type, I have combination skin and my drier areas are quite sensitive. It burnt a lot, it's not a slight stinging. Which to be honest I wouldn't mind going through if the product worked for me. I get breakouts after using it, I only used it three times and I believe I broke out every time and the spots would take like two weeks to go away. I will not use it again. again: my skin is very sensitive like I couldn't handle baking soda in the past.
