Not bad depending on your hair type
I tried it on my hair (thin, chemically straightened afro Caribbean hair) and my daughter (un-processed curly afro hair). It foams up really well and left my hair hydrated but no great difference to any other shampoo I’ve used. It left my daughter's hair very hydrated and even loosened the curls which made it easier to detangle her hair. For my own hair type, it was nothing special. For my daughter's, very good for hydrating and detangling, would definitely use it again for her.

Absolute game changer!!
My hair is in the best condition it's been in years because of this shampoo and conditioner, as well as the no. 3 once a week. My hair gets greasy very quickly and I used to wash it every day and now only need to twice a week thanks to Olaplex! Definitely worth every penny.

Worth it
It is expensive but a small amount goes a long way. You really don't need a lot of it to lather well. Just about a bean size of product gives me more than enough. Leaves my hair silky and shiny that I don't even need to use a conditioner after it. I, of course, still do but even without it, my hair feels really nice and less tangly. I think it is truly worth a try.

Olaplex shampoo
The best shampoo I've used and believe me I've used many. My hair is fine and breaks easily, but not with this shampoo. It is expensive but a little goes a long way, wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Fabulous
I've been using Olaplex 1 and 2 for years now at the salon, with occasional use of the 3 for maintenance. The shampoo and conditioner don't feel quite as stunningly intense as the salon-grade, but my hair is still strong and shiny after using these for a few months. The shampoo is REALLY effective - I need only a tiny amount and it lathers beautifully. Worth the cost!

The best shampoo
I've been using Olaplex for about a month now. I have fine hair that has no volume and even though I was trying to grow it long, it would always break at the end when I reached a certain length. Olaplex by itself does not give it crazy volume but my hair looks way healthier, it finally grew beyond what I thought was the maximum I could achieve and I have to wash my hair less often than I used to. As it is very pricey and I wasn't sure it was going to be worth the investment, I ordered the shampoo and the hair perfecter first and used them for about two weeks before ordering the conditioner as well. If you're on a budget and can only get one product from the Olaplex line, get the shampoo. The other two are working great to supplement it but in my opinion the shampoo is the main miracle worker.
