Only for small spots
I'm suffering from hormonal acne and this does not help at all. It only works for small spots, hence, the 2 stars. However, the clay will not dry overtime, so by the time you wake up, some of it will be stuck on the pillow.

Fantastic over 20 years same jar
I got when I was 15 and used ii over 20 years time flies and as iT was empty I remembered that I never bought another one until then. The pillow talk is true, I put tape on thin layer of paté grise, overnight it keeps the paté on place doing its work and keeps my sheets clean. Tape is called Leukopor (Holland) its perfect kind of paper tape for bandages. You can easily rip it and it breathable.

Will buy again!
I love this little pot of cream! The texture is thick, like a clay and a little goes a long way. The packaging is nice and heavy weight, but the white plastic lid is a little less luxe and more clinical. The smell is familiar and not offensive but some might not like it as it's very topical. It won't make spots disappear, but it does reduce them in size and redness. I would buy this item again and recommend it to others with oily skin like myself.

Love this stuff
When I was younger I always wanted to zap spots with something that felt super potent (including GP prescribed medications). I enjoyed the placebo effect of feeling like I was attacking them, but ultimately they never did much but irritate and dry out my skin. Pate Grise is very different and pretty brilliant. It won't erase a full blown spot overnight, but it will definitely calm it down, and reduce redness, swelling and tenderness. My favourite of its magic tricks however, is applying it as soon as you feel the tingle of a spot coming on. 9 times out of 10, it'll stop the spot developing completely, which is incredible. I'm an actress – so there are days when having clear skin are really important (!) whenever that happens, I always make sure I have pate grise to hand as insurance against the sods law pimples of fate. I like Payot's Speciale 5 as well, but this is the real star. P.S. No one looks hot with white blotches of clay on their face, so it's best when sleeping solo, and it does get on your pillow, but it's white, and most pillows are white so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Disappointed
I read the rave comments and was optimistic in giving this a go. I have used it on many different occasions now and can honestly say the following day, there is no difference to my spots at all (no better or worse) and as another reviewer mentioned, because it does not dry, it gets all over your pillow! Spots still there and laundry to do - I have put it in the bin this morning and it is not a product that I will repurchase!

Meh!
Totally not for me. After using this for a few weeks I've not noticed a single difference in reducing spots. Not worth the hype imo. I really wanted to love this product but unfortunately it just did not do anything for my skin.

Just ok
I was excited to try out this product as I do get the occasional spot along with a hormonal breakout along the chin and anything that could work overnight sounded ideal. It did help to calm down irritation but i didn't see much of a difference in terms of the appearance of my skin after use. I wouldn't say this is an effective 'overnight treatment' as it doesn't dry and ends up all over your pillow! Good to use under concealer during the day and does help ease irritation. For me I have found other treatments have been more effective.

Doesn't work for me
Didn't work for me at all. I tried on many occasions and finally got rid of it. I remember one cream very similar to this in smell and consistency it was made by a pharmacy and it worked better actually. Not for me.

Works on rosacea
When my rosacea flares up (as it's been doing during this ridiculously hot summer), I can get those deep, uncomfortable spots that are really painful if they do come to the surface. This reduces them back down to nothing as efficiently as my prescription antibiotic cream, without irritating my extremely sensitive skin. It's absolutely brilliant. It can take a bit of time to dry once applied, so I'd recommend dabbing it on at least a half hour before going to bed so it stays on your face rather than smearing on the pillow.

Good but.....
I'm giving this four stars because it doesn't dry and it gets all over your pillow (if you are like me and sleep on your side and front). I know it's an overnight treatment but I use it during the day under my concealer and it works well too because it's not drying. I have the other product (Speciale 5) and seem to use that one more (for drying out spots).
