what is this dark wizardry

I have Solaris and I'm never using another type of highlighter. It sheers out so beautifully if you want a subtle highlight. Laying it on thick really packs an iridescent punch that looks amazing in low light conditions. It is strongly scented, but I enjoyed it.

Gorgeous, barely there beauty

I have waaay too many highlighters, all of which were in various shades of champagne or gold, and all of which were powder. I'm probably very late to the party, but I honestly didn't realise there were cream highlighters out there, and even if I had, I would have imagined they would be difficult to apply and not blend well with the rest of my makeup. Well, then THESE little pots of wonderfulness came into my life! Having already fallen in love with the Nectar Pigment Balm, I bought one of the Rare Light Luminisers in 'Solaris'. I was blown away, which is a strange way to express myself here, because what I was so impressed by was how subtle, beautifully complex, and, for lack of a better term, grown up it was! The product name suits it perfectly, 'Rare Light' is exactly right. You can only see it when the light hits you just right, otherwise there is just an ethereal glow, which reminds me of the sought after 'glass skin' look, it's certainly not a bad thing, I feel that this is one of the most sophisticated beauty products I own. When I mentioned earlier that this is beautifully complex, I mean that under the correct lighting you can see the delicate shimmer of the various golds, silvers, pinks, blues, violets etc, that make up each shade. I've since invested in Anthelion and Phosphene, and fully intend to add each one to my collection! I have also purchased The Alchemist, although I don't often use it. I might review that separately, but will just say that you definitely don't need it to enjoy these on their own! My only wish is that Cult Beauty stocked the full range, but unfortunately Rituel de Fille have several products that are exclusive to their website, and they don't ship to the UK. It should say a lot that this alone has led me to find a company which provides US PO Boxes for shipping to the UK, because I NEED to have these, along with many other RDF products not available in the UK in my life!

J'adore Icebow

I ordered the lightest non gold color because I wanted a cream highlighter to glide over powder blushes.  Superficially Icebow looked too much like my Becca Pearl Powder but on skin it has a gorgeous cool almost lavender micro pearl glow that isn't like anything in my collection!  I like a lot of glow and this formula is perfect!

Solaris and Phosphene

I've got Solaris and Phosphene, the are both beautifull! I have a fair skintone. I juse my fingers to apply the product and it blends really nice in to the skin, it has a smooth texture. I find it easy to build up and last a good time. Also a lovely scent, very subtle and calming.

Lovely

I’ve rated this 5x as I think this is the perfect colour for both old and young. It is so flattering on my face, have used it every day since I bought it. I apply it with my fingers and it blends in like a dream.

Solaris

More subtle than advertised, but pretty.

Rare Light Luminizer

I found this to be very subtle and hard to build up and that's on my pale skin. The colour and the formula is nice but that's it. Also I couldn't pick this up with my Beauty blender, only with my fingers.

Phosphene

I own Phosphene for a long time now and have always liked it, but recently I tried to lightly blend it with a damp sponge. I have never seen such a beautiful highlight, it melted into the skin. Highly recommend this highlighter and this way to blend it.

Beautiful subtle ethereal luminiser

I’m a bit of a highlighter junkie but as I getter closer to the 40 mark I struggle with some of the very strobey metallic highlighters and tend to favour the beautifully subtle lit from within glow.... this highlighter is so subtle yet very dewy due to the balmy texture, it highlights beautifully without attracting any attention to fine lines around the eyes! My hubby even commented on how my cheeks look lovely today! I bought the lilac toned option which sits so nicely on my fair to medium skin tone and really sets off their pink cream blusher.

All that glitters is gold...

I purchased Anthelion and it is literally the best highlighter I have ever had. It's perfect for a festive look this winter but also would give a great glow for summer too. I've got really fair olive skin and I can use this under my foundation to give a little radiance and also pat along my brow bone, cheekbone, inner corners of my eyes and Cupid's bow. It also doubles up as a fab eyeshadow and is really buildable. Will be purchasing more shades in the future!
