A thoroughly modern lip formula, Surratts Lipslique is lip colour for the woman who shies away from (sometimes overly) bold, matte lip looks or doesnt have the time to commit to the precision application of an opaque shade. Sheer, creamy and convenient, all 18 hues from Nu De Soleil (subtle, your lips but better) to Peccadille (translucent plum) are enriched with lip-nourishing ingredients (like macadamia seed oil) and glide on from the bullet with no need for lip-lining or blotting. Please note: the colour is twist-up only and does NOT retract, so twist with caution...
Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Diisostearyl Malate, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Polyethylene, Phytosteryl/Isostearyl/Cetyl/Stearyl/Behenyl Dimer Dilinoleate, Triethylhexanoin, Ceresin, Silica Dimethyl Silylate*, Aluminum Hydroxide *, Tocopherol *, Simethicone *, Bht * *, Iron Oxides (Ci 77492), Iron Oxides (Ci 77499), Red 7 (Ci 15850:1), Titanium Dioxide (Ci 77891), Blue 1 Lake (Ci 42090:2), Iron Oxides (Ci 77491), Mica (Ci 77019), Yellow 5 Lake (Ci 19140:1).

Your lips but better
As a brand I've found Surratt hit and miss but Lipslique is a definite hit. I'm early 40's and my lips have lost some pigment and are a little dry. Pros: moisturising, very light feel, smoothing on the lips, natural pigments with a soft 'sheen' which makes lips look really naturally plump without being too glossy. Cons: this is not a long-wear high pigment lipstick. Look elsewhere if that's what you're after! Reapplication is needed throughout the day. Also it's stupidly expensive for what you get in the tube. Recommended shade: for Caucasian skin, eglantine is a great starting point as is a very wearable flesh toned rose.

Lovely
Really enjoyed the lovely texture. I am using Lipslique after a brief flirtation with liquid lipstick so it's a very welcome change. It's lovely and creamy without being heavy. They are very wearable and I have been using them as a daytime/work staple. My one negative is the colours are slightly different than pictured. I purchased 'Paramour' and 'Hevyn' and they are both more brown toned than I was expecting. It's definitely not a problem but just a heads up to those who really don't like brown tones!

Colours different from website
I am a huge fan of Kevin Aucoin so was excited about this rate from his protegé. I am sure that these are great but didn't want to try them as the colours I ordered (Bandy and Ladybug) looked different - the former looked browner rather than the 'perfect warm rose' promised, and the latter looked.....well just different. It's a shame but think I will need to find a counter where I can try these on. I think 'Eglantine' would have been a better choice!

Chuchoter - Your Lips But Better
As a stubborn fan of Mac Lipsticks in Blankety and Modesty, I purchased the shade 'Chuchoter' on a bit of whim - but from the moment I applied this balmy, hydrating nude hue, I was sold - and when my lips remained moisturised and perfectly 'blush' hours later - I knew I had found my holy grail nude lipstick. The perfect fleshy pink, I know this is going to compliment any make up look, whether minimal or dramatic. Think 'your lips but better'. I can safely say this is going to be a staple in my every day make up bag... and I haven't even owned it for 24 hours. IN. LOVE. *4 stars - only because you can't retract the lipstick if you twist it all the way up!
