The perfect lazy tan

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

I am very pale and although it's a gradual tanning lotion, I feel like I really get my money's worth with this as using it only once gives me a lovely golden glow and lasts the best part of a week.Of course, if you prefer a deeper tan then you will need to apply this a few days in a row to achieve the look you are after. It does have a slight fake tan smell but I have known much worse and the moisturiser itself feels great and isn't too sticky or heavy.

My go to!

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

I've tried quite a few gradual tanners over the years and this one is by far my favourite. It has a fairly lightweight texture that is so easy to apply - I just use my fingers but it works well with a mitt too. I have fair skin and it gives me a nice tan after just one use but I personally like to use this 2-3 times in a row for my perfect tan shade. It also wears nicely and doesn't ever go streaky or patchy. If you're looking for an easy tanning product this is the one for you!

So disappointing

2 stars out of a maximum of 5

I am quite a newbie when it comes to self tanning but I was quite happy with the watermelon gradual tan from St Tropez. I ran out and decided to give this one a go as the reviews were fab and endorsed by The Anna Edit.I unfortunately did not like this at all, even after scrubbing and moisturising my body very well it left really bad streaks everywhere and clung to my knees and feet. The colour is not gradual at all and gets orange quite fast. The formula is quite liquid and I noticed I needed to use a lot.I don’t think I am even going to finish the bottle at this point, so disappointed for the price.

A new summer staple

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

At first I didn’t love this, I was being a hit lazy and applying it with my hands rather than a mitt and the tan was not even. However I’ve moved to applying it with a mitt and it’s made a huge difference - the tan goes on evenly and the colour builds really nicely. I’ll use it every other day to build the colour and it’s got a good undertone for me (I have super pale skin in winter) that feels natural and not orange at all. I make sure to put another moisturiser on my elbows, knees and ankles before I apply. I’ll keep using this and repurchase too.

Amazing natural tan (I have pale caucasian skin), and one of the best textures you can find in a tanning cream. Minus one star for the fake tan smell.

My new go-to

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

Great product! I'm fair-skinned and one application gave me a lovely light tan. I followed the instructions making sure I did the circle movements when applying. Bit of a biscuit smell but nothing compared to other products I've used. Definitely will buy again!

Smells like raspberries

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

It really does! That's the first thing that struck me: wow, it doesn't smell nasty or sickly sweet like some of my other tanners. The juicy sour notes of raspberry actually mask the "fake tan" smell very well, it's barely noticeable, very faint. The tan is subtle, as it should be. Not orange at all (pale olive approved!).

Not better, not worse, than your average self tan

3 stars out of a maximum of 5

This is by no means a bad product. But it's also not something I would go out and recommend to my friends. Positives: nice colour, not too orange after one application. Application is pleasant. Negatives: smells just like any other self tan, it just takes a bit longer before the smell develops, but it's there and it's awful. It is definitely streaky. So, all in all, nothing to rave about.

The best I’ve used. It does take around 12 hours for full effect. Very nice olive, natural looking colour. Worth the hefty-ish price tag!

Long lasting and effective

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

With our unpredictable summer, you don't know whether the sun is going to top up your tan. Better to have some of this in your drawer for when you need it. It is easy to apply - I don't use a mitt and have never had streaks. The colour begins to show quickly which is great and it's never been orange on my skin. And it lasts for AGES - I think I bought my bottle at least two years ago!
