Stripping back unnecessary packaging and misleading ingredients, The Ordinary offers an abundance of brilliant, high-performance products at eye-wideningly reasonable prices – and their Squalane Cleanser is no exception! Carefully formulated for all skin types, this clever potion dissolves make up and the day's dirt while simultaneously moisturising with a combination of squalane and other lipophilic esters.
This gentle cleanser is anything but ordinary, removing make up and impurities as it retains your skin's moisture – unlike some harsher cleansers, there's no need to worry about tightness after using this. Star of the show is squalane, a first-class hydrator that's found naturally in the skin, helping to prevent loss of moisture and boost suppleness. This combines with other lipophilic esters to dissolve make up and unwanted grime for clean and clog-free pores. The hard-working formula feels balm-like when first applied, changing to a clear oil-like texture when warmed into your skin – an important feat that allows emulsifying sucrose esters to capture the dissolved make up and dirt and rinse them away. Free from soap, which can cause irritation or 'strip' the skin, this crowd-pleasing cleanser respects your complexion's natural epidermal lipids, making it suitable for all skin types – even sensitive ones.
Squalane, Aqua (Water), Covo-Caprylate/Carpate,Glycerin, Sucrose Stearate, Ethycal Macadamiate, Malic Acid, Trocopherol, Hydroxymethoxyphenyl Decanone, Sucrose Laurate, Sucrose Dilaurate, Sucrose Trilaurate, Hydrogenated Starch Hydrolysate,Polyacrylate Crosspolymer-6, Isoceteth-20, Sodium Polyacrylate, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Ethylhexylglycerin,Chlorphenesin

My best cleanser
I’ve got sensitive skin that’s on the dehydrated side - this cleanser leaves it well cleansed of makeup and feeling more comfortable than anything else I’ve tried, even much pricier stuff, I love this and am on my fourth one!

My new favourite cleanser!
Tried this cleanser as part of the daily set, was really looking forward to trying it based on others reviews and I was not disappointed! I have sensitive dry skin, and this cleanser didn't cause any irritation whatsoever (huge win!). Straight from the tube it is like a balm, but once it warms in your hands/on skin it becomes a beautiful soft oil texture which smoothes perfectly over the skin. It feels ultra soft and luxurious like nothing I've ever felt before. It rinses really easily without the need for a cloth to remove, leaving no residue but leaving the skin feeling really soft and cleansed. I loved that it doesn't cause the tight feeling some cleansers do.I found that the 50ml tube lasted me about a month, which I think is acceptable for the low price point. Only cons are its a little tricky to get the product out when it's running low, and the fact the larger size is never in stock! Already repurchased as this will definitely be my new daily cleanser, highly recommend if you're on the fence about trying it :)

Excellent cleanser - and budget friendly!
This is such a brilliant cleanser, goes on balmy, turns oily, then goes milky when wet.  It’s a great all-rounder, removes makeup easily, doesn’t irritate, it’s gentle, doesn’t dry your skin, it’s almost perfect, you just don’t get enough. I can go through a tube of this so quickly, I usually get the large size but it doesn’t last long at all.  We need a BIGGER size please. Also it goes out of stock a lot which is frustrating. But I can’t fault the cleanser itself it’s fabÂ

Great
Love this face wash, used with other The Ordinary products, has improved my skin. Main thing is to use a small amount on DRY hands and rub together to create a cream to smooth over your face then rinse off.Â

Go to
My go to cleanser, great for removing makeup sunscreen etc. but also nice for a gentle morning cleanse too. I have oily skin and even though the texture goes on a little greasy it doesn't leave any residue. I just wish there was a bigger bottle!
