Stripping back unnecessary packaging and misleading ingredients, The Ordinary offers an abundance of brilliant, high-performance products at eye-wideningly reasonable prices – and their Squalane Cleanser is no exception! Carefully formulated for all skin types, this clever potion dissolves make up and the day's dirt while simultaneously moisturising with a combination of squalane and other lipophilic esters.
This gentle cleanser is anything but ordinary, removing make up and impurities as it retains your skin's moisture – unlike some harsher cleansers, there's no need to worry about tightness after using this. Star of the show is squalane, a first-class hydrator that's found naturally in the skin, helping to prevent loss of moisture and boost suppleness. This combines with other lipophilic esters to dissolve make up and unwanted grime for clean and clog-free pores. The hard-working formula feels balm-like when first applied, changing to a clear oil-like texture when warmed into your skin – an important feat that allows emulsifying sucrose esters to capture the dissolved make up and dirt and rinse them away. Free from soap, which can cause irritation or 'strip' the skin, this crowd-pleasing cleanser respects your complexion's natural epidermal lipids, making it suitable for all skin types – even sensitive ones.
Squalane, Aqua (Water), Covo-Caprylate/Carpate,Glycerin, Sucrose Stearate, Ethycal Macadamiate, Malic Acid, Trocopherol, Hydroxymethoxyphenyl Decanone, Sucrose Laurate, Sucrose Dilaurate, Sucrose Trilaurate, Hydrogenated Starch Hydrolysate,Polyacrylate Crosspolymer-6, Isoceteth-20, Sodium Polyacrylate, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Ethylhexylglycerin,Chlorphenesin

Love this!
I used to use Clinique's cleansing balm but when it ran out I had a week to go before payday so couldn't afford to replace it so tried this instead - I'll not buy the Clinique stuff again as this is equally as good and so much cheaper. Lasts ages and takes off all my masses of mascara without stinging my eyes. Sorry Clinique, I did love you but I love my squalane even more.

As good as anything I've used. Silky and gentle.

Wow!
I'm a sucker for balm cleansers, my usual rotation is Clinique's take the day off, Eve Lom, EH Moringa Balm and more recently DE Slaii. After using this cleanser, it is the softest my face has ever felt after cleansing, I will definitely be purchasing the bigger size, I'm hooked!

Amazing
Double cleansing is my religion and I loved this. Most oil or balm cleansers are either cheap and bad or good and overpriced. This is cheap but reeeeally good, like better than some of the most popular ones. This leaves no residue! I prefer this to the Clinique Take the Day Off Cleanser! My only issue is that the size is way too small for an oil cleanser, should be like double or triple the size, it runs out for me in like 3 maybe 4 weeks.

Amazing product
I was so keen to try out this product since it was announced because I LOVE The Ordinary brand and this did not disappoint - in fact, it impressed me so much. It really is so gentle on my skin and doesn't dry it out at all. My face feels so soft and hydrated afterwards which is amazing. As for removing makeup... YES! It did a fantastic job removing my makeup and I was shocked. This product definitely does everything it claims to do and I absolutely love it. I will definitely purchase it again

One of the best!
I use this as part of my double cleansing routine. Love how it doesn’t strip the skin, it really is gentle, my face feels soft afterwards. But it takes a while to turn into oil tho... gotta really work it out. That part really baffles me. I probably squeezed a little too much. But once it’s nice and oily, it removes all traces of makeup effortlessly! Doesn’t sting the eye even. Already on my 3rd!

Works great and doesn't irritate my eyes
This is a great product, at a great price. I've been using Clinique's Take the day off, which was super effective but harsh on my sensitive eyes. I tried this and it is as effective in removing all make up, including waterproof mascara - just needs a bit gentle insistence - and my eyes love it. Plus, it is half the price per ml. So a great product with great results at a great price, what more would I ask for? I'm waiting for it to be restocked so that I can repurchase before I run out of it. PS: I would really appreciate a larger size!

Good Cleanser
The texture is great. Once I work it into the skin, it becomes a bit oily and breaks down makeup.
