The Ordinary has firmly cemented itself as a leader in science-backed skin care. Taking the guesswork out of building a regime, it ditches unnecessary, filler ingredients for familiar, hard-working actives that deliver promising results. A case in point is the Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% (30ml), a gentle serum designed to smooth, brighten and plump.
Want to improve the appearance of dull, lacklustre skin while you sleep? Cue The Ordinary's Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres (30ml) treatment.
At the centre of this water-free formula is L-ascorbic acid (AKA the purest form of vitamin C) which remains completely stable due to the absence of water. Famed for its brightening abilities, this acid reduces the appearance of an uneven skin tone and dark spots. That's not all though; with the infusion of hyaluronic acid spheres, this treatment also hydrates and plumps the skin. It's ideal to use at bedtime, so you can wake up with a radiant, supple and more youthful-looking complexion.
Ascorbic Acid, Squalane, Isodecyl Neopentanoate, Isononyl Isononanoate, Coconut Alkanes, Ethylene/Propylene/Styrene Copolymer, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Glucomannan, Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, Butylene/Ethylene/Styrene Copolymer, Acrylates/Ethylhexyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Trihydroxystearin, Bht.

Apply a small amount to the face once daily, ideally in the evening. Avoid the eye contour and contact with eyes. Use sun protection during the day. A tingling sensation can be expected; if the sensation is too strong, the formula can be mixed with other oils of your preference before each application to reduce the strength.

Great product at a great price
I really rate this product... a little goes a long way and my skin is much improved since I started using it. I use a serum first and then a small amount of The Ordnary Vit. C suspension and it soaks in quickly and easily. Great value product for the price.

Great product if you know how to use it
I've seen a lot of people complain about this vitamin C suspension, and I think they may be using it wrong. The trick with this product is to put it on dry skin, as the itch and stinging are far worse if you put it on wet skin. Also, it should not be combined with acids, peptides or retinol/retinoids. This product is most effective when it's used on its own, or possibly with a little oil or moisturiser -- 'little' being the key word.As for the effects of this vitamin C suspension... I like them enough that I used up my entire first tube and then reordered the product. While I don't like the grittiness of the suspension, I can't deny that it does a great job of plumping up my face and making it glow. It also seems to even out my skin tone. I use this at night, on days when I'm not using any peptides or retinoids, and I really like the way my dry and mature skin looks the morning after. It both looks and feels very healthy. Younger, too. So yeah, I'll probably keep repurchasing this product, despite the grittiness.

mix it with something else
okay so i wrote a review saying it was gritty but that’s because i was applying it per their recommendation. it’s itchy and irritating because it’s basically super concentrated bursts of ascorbic acid powder sitting on your skin which is bound to irritate even pretty resilient skin.  however, i started using it over an essence (i use the cosrx snail mucin) before the essence has been fully absorbed, which helps the suspended vitamin c powder dissolve. less irritation that way! i’ll be able to use up the tube now.Â

*insert sad face*
Oxidised after the first use, and turned me patchy orange every time I used it (face and hands). Also, it smelled like tan. I tried using it multiple different ways to counteract the orangeness - over serums, over moisturiser, using it only at night etc. No luck, unfortunately. Washing hands after use does help prevent them from oxidising so they don’t turn orange. Also, the texture is so gritty and unpleasant.

Hi I have been using the hyaluronic acid for a few weeks now. I tried it in combination with your vitamin c suspension but I found that the two combined was too strong for me and really burned my skin, but I still use the hyaluronic acid in combination with super drug vitamin c serum and it works for me. My skin is pretty ancient I was born in the late 1940s so I have a few smile lines, this combo makes my skin soft and smooth I still have wrinkles but hey ho, my make up goes on very well. I'm going to try your eye serum next. By the way the ordinary vitamin c serum and hyaluronic acid work very well on my hands knees and elbows mixed with my body lotion.
