Established in the 17th Century, Trudon is the oldest candle maker in the world, responsible for perfuming the persons and the palaces of everyone from Louis XIV to Her Madgesty Madonna. With countless endorsements from high-profile actors, musicians and conquerors (*cough* Napoleon *cough*), the brand's discerning clientele is testament to the quality, luxury and beauty of these opulent olfactory offerings - perfect for scenting your space and creating the ultimate ambience.
Inspired by the Gazette des Atours de la Reine - a seemingly ordinary notebook, kept by Marie Antoinette's first maid of honour, Geneviève d'Ossun - Tuileries celebrates the floral fabrics used to fashion dresses for the sovereign; in particular, the rose, her favourite fleur.
Created to honour the brand's 380th anniversary (no small accomplishment), Trudon's Tuileries Reed Diffuser opens with a burst of blackcurrant, mandarin and ripe pink berries which beautifully evoke the multi-faceted bloom of sun-warmed rose petals. With mid notes of white flowers, rose, geranium and raspberry that mellow to a base of musk and sandalwood with whispers of patchouli, Tuileries puts a chic, sophisticated spin on floral fragrances - shrouding the typically 'pretty' rose notes with a heady allure that alludes to the stories of regal debauchery. Housed in pink fluted glass with a brass collar and the brand's signature golden crest, this looks exquisite on a mantelpiece, or makes an eye-catching (and nose-delighting) addition to your dressing table.
The diffuser allows a 3 to 4-month long, passive diffusion.
