Do a patch test before use. This is incredibly active, so could aggravate especially sensitive skins - although don't be alarmed if you experience a slight tingling/redness upon application - this is quite normal. Apply a thin layer to clean skin. Gently massage in a circular motion with wet fingertips to polish with micro-polishing aluminum oxide powder. Leave on for 3-7 minutes depending on skin sensitivity and let the AHAs and enzymes work. Rinse thoroughly. Use one or two times per week.

The holy grail of masks!

The most amazing mask I've ever used, & I've tried so many! This is really holy grail stuff! I have combination skin, dry cheeks & forehead with oily chin & nose. This mask does sting a little but after a couple of minutes the stinging goes. You are left with such soft, luminous skin. It literally glows. The jar lasts for ages too which is a bonus. Try it, you won't be disappointed!

Be gentle

I've been dying to try this for ages and read many very positive reviews. I had very high expectation and while this didn't disappoint I was expecting more in the way of an immediate and apparent difference in skin texture. Do be very gentle when applying this product. It contains a lot of tiny physical particles that can feel very scratchy and I suspect this might be what causes a lot of the reported stinging and redness. I do have sensitive skin and it goes red very easily. The second time I used it, I was conscious of having a much lighter touch both when applying and doing the wet finger circular motions. This resulted in no stinging but a sensation of coldness (similar to that of mint on the skin). Although I'm quite happy to continue using this, I'm not sure I'd buy it again as I have used better masks where the results are more evident.

Very strong but very effective!

I have very sensitive, oily blemish prone skin, so whenever I use this mask it does sting/tingle quite a bit for the first minute or so. For anyone else with very sensitive skin I'd recommend not to rub the mask in as it can make my skin very red and stingy, just leave the mask on for 3/4 mins and it works a treat! Skin feels amazingly soft and smooth and definitely helps with oil control :)

I have sensitive skin & this mask is amazing

I have sensitive skin but I thought I would buy this mask and give it a try. I applied a thin layer and my face and it started to tingle but was a mild sensation. After I removed the mask my skin was smooth clear and glowing! So for sensitive skin use a very thin layer. I then decided to use it on my knees and elbows as I have dry skin and I'm a bit lazy to exfoliate. Wow! What a difference, my knees and elbows are smooth and the mask has helped with pigmentation I have in those areas. So give it a go and you won't be disappointed.

Grew to love this

Initially when I tried this it felt like my face was on fire and I had to remove it instantly. However, when I got the courage to try using it again I found that although it was uncomfortable, it was bearable. The discomfort was worth gritting my teeth for, as my skin was glowing, exfoliated and looked clearer. I've now used this about 5 times and each time it has been slightly less painful. My face usually looks slightly flushed for about 30 mins after using it so I tend to avoid using this right before I'm due to go out for the evening! I agree with the other reviewers and would not suggest this for people with sensitive skin or people who don't think they could deal with the INTENSE tingling sensation. This face mask is going to last me a very long time, as you only need a tiny amount, so I feel this is incredible value for money. I like the packaging and the smell of this product too. I love Peter Thomas Roth products, and this is definitely up there with my favourites.

Lightend my scars

I could not order this from Cult Beauty because I am not from the UK, but I had the Chance to try this mask and I just love it. It is very strong (but I like it, because than I know it is working) It made my acne scars lighter and also I feel like it gives a great glow afterwards. I have acne prone skin and I'm using it twice a week and sometimes I use it for 15-20 minutes.

Fantastic mask for oily skin

This is one of the best face masks I have ever used (and I have tried many!). Smells delicious and leaves skin radiant and glowing. As other reviewers have mentioned this is not for sensitive skin types as it does tingle quite a bit, but on my oily skin it works really well. A little goes a long way - I've used it about 6 or 7 times and the tub still looks full. Just try it!

Great

Have had this for about a month now and I would not be without it! The first time I used it, I noticed a difference. My skin was brighter, less congested and felt much smoother in texture. It does tingle slightly on the skin so if you are sensitive, maybe try a sample first. Thoroughly recommend! You get a large tub and you only need a small amount for each application so it is great value for money

Now THIS is worth the hype.

What a mask. Super active, pretty zingy and a very distinctive (delicious) smell, it's not going to be for everyone-but if it suits your skin, it's marvellous. Certainly not for sensitive skins, this physical/chemical exfoliating mask is a dream come true for my oily zit-ridden skin. It's pretty intense for the first few uses, but cleanses and exfoliates blackheads into oblivion without completely stripping my skins I use this once a week and a thin layer is completely sufficient-the pot will last me forever!

Tingle-tastic

I love this range, weirdly Peter Thomas Roth stays below the beauty editor radar but it deserves to be on every shelf in the UK. Everything I've tried from it has been wonderfully effective, with something just a little bit different about the formulation and packaging. This mask is NOT for the faint hearted, it is very active, I use it as a deep-clean once a week. Do not use if you have sensitive skin. One thing I would say is when applying, massage it on gently (it contains physically exfoliating beads), as the ingredients start working it warms up and feels mildly uncomfortable and if you have exfoliated your face with it while massaging it on this will be stronger. Once your skin is used to it go for your life, you will work out a happy medium. I find this exhilarating, the mild discomfort energises my complexion and makes it bloom. My make up then looks airbrushed on after this. Genius!
